Introduction to the Mingbei Hall: To the north of the square is the Mingbei Hall. The exterior of the hall is made of granite and looks particularly solemn. In the center of the hall is a large white marble lying stele, on which is engraved the eight gilded characters of Mao Zedong's inscription "Sacrifice for the country and live forever". On the white marble platform at the top of the lying monument is a bronze wreath carefully made by Austrian expatriate Geist. The names of 248 martyrs are engraved on the center of the north wall of the Memorial Hall. The walls on the east and west sides of the hall are inlaid with inscriptions written by party and state leaders such as Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Peng Dehuai, Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping, Peng Zhen, He Long, Luo Ronghuan, Xu Xiangqian, Nie Rongzhen, etc., which spoke highly of the achievements of the martyrs.
