Introduction to the Double Lions Guarding the Pass: There are two peaks beside the Tonggubao Mountain Road, one on the left and one on the right, with only a path left in the middle. They look like they are guarding the pass, hence the name Double Lions Guarding the Pass. Legend has it that the pair of lions were originally a pair of mounts belonging to Grandmaster Zhang Daoqing. One day, they secretly ran out to play while the Grandmaster was coming down the mountain. When he was having fun, it was too late to return to the mountain. The Grandmaster was so angry that he punished the pair of lions. The bronze drum bag guarding the Shanxi gate of Jiugong has turned into rock over time. The two lions are one foot apart and can never be together, creating a wonderful scene of a thin line of sky.
