Introduction to Pilu Pagoda: Pilu Pagoda of Huangmei Sizu Temple, also known as Ciyun Pagoda and Zhenshen Pagoda, was first built in the second year of Yonghui in the Tang Dynasty. According to records, after the Fourth Patriarch Daoxin passed the mantle to Zen Master Hongren, the following year he personally taught the Fifth Patriarch Hongren to build a tomb pagoda and passed away in this pagoda. This is also the first tomb pagoda of the founder of Zen Buddhism in China. The entire tower has a rigorous structure, simple shape, meticulous masonry, and gorgeous decoration, which are typical of early tower construction in ancient China.
