Introduction to the red shelduck: Yunnan provincial protected wild animal. According to the province's important wetland survey in 2002, there were about 6,000 in total, of which more than 2,300 were found in Huize Bridge and Changhai, accounting for about 38% of the total. In 2004, the number of ducks surveyed at Huizeye Station was 3,880. In 2008, the number of ducks was about 2,500, with an average of about 3,000, accounting for 50% of the total number of red shelducks in the province's major wetlands. The maximum number of clusters during the scientific survey was 123. During the inspection period from February 3 to 8, 2009, the number was found to have decreased significantly, with the total number being only over 1,000.
