Introduction to the Red Cannon: The Hongyi (clothed) general cannon, also known as the red cannon, is a hot weapon in ancient China, originating from the bamboo (wood) cannon of the Song Dynasty. The cannon in the museum area was cast during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty and was unearthed from the Phoenix Tower of Tianxin Pavilion. Iron cannons are divided into three types according to weight: large, medium and small. The words "Weighed five (four or three) thousand catties in the third year of Xianfeng" are cast near the muzzle, and the words "Jing", "Ming", "He" and other different words are cast above the cannon hole.
