Introduction to the old site of the Passage Meeting: On December 12, 1934, when the Central Red Army’s Long March passed through Passage, the person in charge of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held an emergency meeting (historically known as the “Tongsong Meeting”) at Gongcheng Academy. At the meeting, Mao Zedong’s correct idea of transferring troops westward to Guizhou was endorsed by Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and other comrades present. Channel's transfer of troops saved the Red Army and the party at an extremely critical moment, laying a solid foundation for the successful convening of the Zunyi Conference.
