Benkang introduction: "Benkang" is a Tibetan Buddhist building, which means "the hall where one hundred thousand living Buddhas live", which houses one hundred thousand clay Buddha statues. The Tu people built "Benkang" to pray for blessings and ward off disasters. When selecting the site, they had to choose a geomantic treasure land that condenses the spiritual energy of the mountains and rivers, and then the construction could be started only after a lama who was proficient in the five elements and eight trigrams performed divination. The "Benkang" here looks like a square pavilion in the Han area, surrounded by columns. The architecture, sculptures, and paintings on it are all full of strong Tu cultural atmosphere. On every first and fifteenth day of the Lunar New Year, the Tu people in the village will chant Buddhist scriptures around "Benkang" and pray devoutly for the happiness and health of the tribe.
