Introduction to the Arc de Triomphe: The Triumphal Arch (Triumphal Arch) was completed in 1765 and was built to commemorate the marriage of Leopold Ludovica. It is said that Leopold's father Franz I died at this wedding, so the front of the Arc de Triomphe describes the "life and happiness" of the wedding, while the back depicts the "death and sorrow" of the emperor's death.
