Introduction to Lake Brienz: Lake Brienz (Brienzersee) is located 16 kilometers east of Interlaken. Brienz on the lakeside is famous for its wood carvings. The typical wooden houses of the Bernese Oberland are found here. Very well preserved. Behind the village is the famous Lott Peak, not far to the east of the village is Ballenberg's Field Museum, and across the lake is the spectacular Geese River Falls.
