Introduction to the Great Torii: Built in 1875, the vermilion-lacquered Great Torii is made of unprocessed nanmu. It is about 16 meters high and has a 24-meter upper beam. It stands tall on the vast blue waves of the Seto Inland Sea. Above it, it shows its unique majestic appearance. It is said that it was built to welcome the gods of the sea to the island.
