Introduction to Jai Prakash Yantra: Jai Prakash Yantra looks like a big bowl. It was the last instrument built in the observatory and was invented by Jay Singer and named after him. The instrument itself can observe celestial objects, but it can also be used to check the results calculated by other instruments. The interior of the bowl is divided into six marble slabs, marked with minutes and seconds, as well as the signs of the zodiac. The metal ring suspended in the middle represents the sun, and measurements are calculated from the shadow it casts on the marble slab. It is said that this instrument may be used to calculate auspicious days for marriages, negotiations or other matters.
