Introduction to Magic Lake: Magic Lake (Medicine Lake) is the most mysterious lake in the Canadian Rockies. It disappears once a year, and at the drainage outlet at the northwest end of the lake, the river bed is usually dry. The changes in the Magic Lake are actually caused by the water level rising and falling due to the influence of the underground drainage system.
