Introduction to the Dome of the Rock: The Dome of the Lock is one of the oldest mosques in the world and the most conspicuous and famous symbol of Jerusalem. Located at the entrance along the stone steps on the edge of the Wailing Wall, it was built in 687 BC. It is a beautiful building with a golden dome. The mosque is octagonal, with each side 21 meters long. The dome is made of real gold foil, with a crescent-shaped symbol pillar on the top. The walls are made of marble and decorated with mosaic colored tiles in Arabic patterns. There are also mosaic tiles on the top of the wall. Decorated into Koranic text. The dome of the temple is magnificent, and the white rock mound in the fence below the dome is said to be the place where Abraham sacrificed his son Isaac to God, and where the prophet Muhammad was led by angels to ascend to heaven. The Bire-Alva Cave under the rock hill is the Well of Souls and is said to be the center of the world.
