Introduction to Yongsi Hall: The ancestral hall, also known as Yongsi Temple, was built in the sixth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty and was later destroyed by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. It was rebuilt in 1924 and demolished during the Cultural Revolution. Xiaojiang Ancestral Hall was once praised as "the best one" among the 70 famous ancestral halls in the south of the Yangtze River. It is the first of the four ancient buildings in Wuyuan. In September 2003, it was rebuilt for the third time. It is rare in China for its large scale, wide area, exquisite carvings and exquisite building materials.
