Introduction to Wenxin Guogong Temple: Wenxin Guogong Temple is located east of Jiangxin Island. It is a monumental building that worships Wen Tianxiang, the national hero of the Southern Song Dynasty and the famous patriotic poet. The temple was founded in the 18th year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1482), and has been expanded and rebuilt many times. This temple was built in the late Qing Dynasty, with three rooms and two entrances, a cloister-style courtyard, covering an area of 821 square meters, green tile walls, copper keys and red doors, which is quite primitive: a new three-dimensional color statue of Wen Tianxiang was sculpted in the middle of the temple; The walls are inlaid with "Song of Righteousness", "North Return to Zhongchuan Temple", "Jiangxin Temple", "Crossing the Lingding Ocean", etc.; there are also Zhang Zongxiang, Sha Menghai, Wang Yuchang, Fang Jiekan, Qi Gong, Zhang Boju, Guo Shaoyu, etc. There are couplets and inscriptions by contemporary famous figures such as Xia Chentao, Lu Yanshao, Pan Shou, and Tan Jiancheng.
Wen Tianxiang (1236-1282), also named Song Rui and Lushan, was born in Luling, Jizhou. He won the first prize at the age of 20. In the second year of Deyou (1276), Wen Tianxiang was detained as the right prime minister and privy envoy to Yuanying for negotiation. He escaped during the transport and traveled for 40 days. After going through hardships for 40 days, he arrived in Wenzhou on April 8 and stayed in the center of the river for one month. On the wall of the temple, there is a poem written inscribed with "North Return to Zhongchuan Temple". After that, Wen Tianxiang summoned heroes from Wenzhou, Taiwan, and Chuzhou to recruit volunteers and planned to fight against the Yuan Dynasty and restore the country. He later fought in various places, was defeated, and was captured and imprisoned for three years. He died calmly in the 19th year of Yuan Dynasty (1282) at the age of 47.
