Introduction to the Forest of Steles: There is a tall stone tablet erected in front of the Yuhuang Pavilion, which was erected in the third year of Zhizheng (1343 AD) by Emperor Shun of the Yuan Dynasty. It is called the "Nine Lao Xiandu Palace Records" tablet. According to the inscription, Emperor Yuan Shun made the Taoist priest Tang Dongyun (Taoist name Yuan Jingzhenren) in the temple the ninth immortal after the Eight Immortals at that time, so Xuanmiao Temple was renamed "Nine Lao Immortal Palace".
