Introduction to exquisite roof ridges: Most of the buildings have high ridges and carved beams and painted pillars. Wood carvings, clay sculptures, brick carvings and stone carvings can be seen everywhere, with exquisite craftsmanship. Most of them adopt techniques such as through, relief and flat carving. The carvings are rich in content, including animals, flowers and birds, fish and insects, landscapes and figures, and the patterns are simple. The exquisite carvings of ancient residences not only focus on the mature sculpture art of southern Fujian, but also reflect the influence of Hinduism, Islam, Nanyang culture and Western architectural art.
