Introduction to Bat Rock: The rock wall of Bat Rock is riddled with holes. One of the larger caves is very much like a bat. In the evening, there are groups of bats gathering in the cave, hanging upside down on the rock wall, making a lot of noise. Therefore it is called "Bat Rock".
