Introduction to Mendenhall Glacier: Mendenhall Glacier is the most representative glacier in Juneau. It is about six miles away from downtown Juneau. The glacier is one mile wide and six miles long. Glaciers that are gradually "retreating". Cotton Field Lake on the front edge of the glacier was formed by the melting of glacier snow. There is also a waterfall on the right side formed by the melting of glacier snow.
