Introduction to the Red Dog Saloon: The most famous bar during the Juneau gold rush era, the "Red Dog Saloon" (Red Dog Saloon), is located at the corner of Franklin Street and Marina Street. The two-story bar, painted bright red, looks like a barn with a hexagonal spire from a distance. It has two floors, with the American Stars and Stripes and the blue Alaska state flag on the eaves. In the middle is the "Red Dog Saloon" LOGO with red letters on a white background, and a slightly cartoonish red pug painted on top - it is said that it has been here for more than 100 years. When you walk into the bar, there is a long bar on the right hand side, lit with dim neon lights. There are also some tools and old-fashioned furniture from the gold mining period around it. The floor is deliberately sprinkled with sawdust, sand, gravel and fur fragments to create the atmosphere of those days. A dirty smell.
