Introduction to Huayang Academy: Huayang Academy was founded by Li Chunfang, the number one scholar of the Ming Dynasty, in the 23rd year of Wanli (1595). The old site is located in the No. 2 Middle School. During the Xianfeng period, the building was destroyed by war. In 1865, the fourth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, the magistrate Zhou Guangdou bought a private house in the west of the city (now inside the Municipal People's Hospital) and turned it into an academy. In the autumn of the 29th year of Guangxu (1903), Jurong No. 1 Government Primary School was founded in Huayang Academy. In 2003, according to the principle of "repairing the old as before", the entire building was moved to Gexian Lake Park.
