Introduction to the Tarek River: The Tarek River is the second largest river after the Mara River that flows through the Masai Mara grassland. It originates from the Ol Kinyei area in the northeast of the Masai Mara Reserve and flows from east to west. It passes through the central part of the reserve in the west and finally flows into the north-south Mara River. Like the Mara River, there are many hotels located along the Tarek River. You can also see wildebeest crossing the river here during the Great Migration Season, but the scale and shock are less than that of the Mara River.
