Introduction to the Baiguoting ruins: Baiguoting was once a teahouse and Taiping Heavenly Kingdom meeting hall. It was destroyed by an accidental fire in the early summer of 1987. Today, only a stone door frame and a few charred wooden piles remain. Its doors, columns, beams, and rafters are all made of century-old ginkgo tree (ginkgo) wood, so it is named Ginkgo Hall. From the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, it was the most famous tea house in Kongcheng Old Street. During the Xianfeng period, after the Taiping Army held the famous "Songyang Conference" in the history of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom at the Bajiao Pavilion in Kongcheng, the loyal king Li Xiucheng and the British king Chen Yucheng stationed here twice to discuss major military matters and unite the northern Nian Army to command the rebel and Qing armies. The tug-of-war was fought and the famous Pukou Victory or Tongcheng Victory was achieved. Because the Taiping Army once discussed military affairs here, the Ginkgo Hall was called the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Assembly Hall.
