Introduction to Nishi Honganji Temple: Nishi Honganji Temple is the largest sect of Jodo Shinshu. It was founded by Shinran. It was originally built as Otani Honganji Temple in 1272. After many wars and migrations, Nishi Honganji Temple was the 11th sect leader in 1591. Hianru received the support of Sekiba Toyotomi Hideyoshi and moved to the current location.
