Introduction to the flag lowering ceremony:The location where the flags of both sides were lowered was in front of two large iron gates adjacent to the national border between the two countries. On both sides of the border are the Punjab Province of Pakistan and the Punjab State of India. A dividing line in 1947 bisected the Punjab Plain, known as the "Barn of South Asia". The two large iron gates are inlaid with the national emblems of the two countries, and there is a middle area about one meter wide between the two doors. On the flagpoles on both sides, the star and crescent flag of Pakistan and the tricolor flag of India fluttered proudly facing each other.
