Introduction to Mulu Ningba: Mulu Ningba, also known as the old Mulu Temple, is located in No. 10, Northwest Lane, Bajiao North Street. It was built to solve the problem of accommodation for monks and lamas who came to the Jokhang Temple to worship Buddha. As the number of monks on the market increased, people later built a new Mulu Temple. The temple site of Xinmulu Temple is in the current Tibetan Sutra Printing House, outside Bajiao Street. During the period of the fifth Dalai Lama, people re-expanded the old Mulu Temple. The two rows of buildings on the south and east sides and the main hall on the north were all built during this period. From then on, the old Mulu Temple and the Jokhang Temple were under the jurisdiction of the same institution. Every year when the lamas from major temples came to attend the Jokhang Temple Dharma Assembly, the lamas from Drepung Temple lived here together with their horses. Nowadays, there are not many monks in Mulu Ningba, and it has become a large courtyard where ordinary citizens enjoy living.
