Introduction to the Examination Hall: The Examination Hall was the "children's examination" place for states and counties in Liaocheng during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was the main way for ancient literati to advance from civilians to officialdom. Some spaces inside the examination hall display scenes of ancient imperial examinations. The design of the Little West Lake Park on the southwest side of the Kao Yuan is based on traditional Suzhou gardens, and in line with various "Taoist" traditions in the Kao Yuan, it is built as a place for tea tasting, smelling incense, flower arranging, sword practice, meditation, etc.
