Introduction to the Gloria Lift: The Gloria Lift, also known as the Gloria Lift, is a very old tram-like public transportation in Lisbon. It was officially opened to the public on October 24, 1885. It was first powered by water power, then transformed into steam power in 1886, and finally became the current electric power in 1915. Recognized as a national historic monument in 2002, it is one of the most used means of transportation in Lisbon and is especially popular with tourists. Starting from Praça dos Restauradores, go all the way up 265 meters towards the high area. When tourists get out of the lift and arrive at the San Pedro Observation Deck, they will have a panoramic view of the center of Lisbon and the San Jorge Castle in the distance.
