City Hall Introduction: Kaunas City Hall, also known as The White Swan, was built in 1542. The building is 53 meters high. It is a late Baroque building with early classicism and Gothic architectural style. During the Tsar's reign, the City Hall was converted into an Orthodox church, and in 1837 it was also used as the Tsar's palace. Together with the Town Hall Square, it was the heart of ancient Kaunas.
