Introduction to strategizing: Shuixi is the first stop of the New Fourth Army’s Anti-Japanese War in Jiangsu and the birthplace of the New Fourth Army’s Anti-Japanese War in Jiangsu. Starting from May 1938, the advance detachment and the 1st and 2nd detachments of the New Fourth Army, led by Chen Yi, Zhang Dingcheng, Su Yu, and Fu Qiutao, were successively ordered to march eastward from southern Anhui to behind enemy lines in southern Jiangsu to carry out anti-Japanese guerrilla warfare.
