Introduction to Wu Hengtong: Wu Hengtong was the inspector general of the 47th Regiment of the 16th Brigade and the 5th Administrative Region of Southern Jiangsu. He was wounded and captured during a breakout battle on September 6, 1941. Under various threats and inducements from the Japanese army, Wu Hengtong refused medical treatment and went on a hunger strike, determined to die for his country.
