Introduction to the sobering pile: In the 48th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi, the prefect of Jianzhou set up a sobering pile at the lower street of Luodai. The pile was a stone pillar with a height of more than 1 meter, and an iron chain as thick as a thumb was tied to the pillar. Any drunken Hakka man in the town will be tied to this stone pillar and will not be released home until he sobers up. After liberation, the sobering pile was moved to the Longquanyi District Museum.
