Introduction to Rue Victor-Hugo: Rue Victor-Hugo connects Place Bellecour and Place Carnot, and together with Rue de la Repubblica on the other side of Place Bellecour, it forms one of the largest pedestrian streets in Europe. Both sides of the street are mainly 3-6-story buildings from the 19th century, with many restaurants, shops and hotels. In the center of the street is Ampere Square, with the Ampere-Hugo subway station nearby.
