Introduction to Augustine Church: Augustine Church is located at No. 2 Gangdingqiandi. It is the first church in Macau to preach in English and one of the oldest churches in Macau. In 2005, it became part of the Historic Center of Macau. It is included in the World Cultural Heritage List.
The church has a majestic appearance and a spacious interior. There is a statue of Jesus carrying the cross on the marble altar. Every year on the first weekend of Lent, people will enshrine the crucifix in the church. Transported to the lobby and moved back the next day, this event commonly known as "The Big Jesus" is one of the important religious activities in Macau.
