Tower introduction: The church bell tower is about 86 meters high and is the symbol of Modena. It was originally a five-story building. In order to compete with the bell tower in Bologna, an octagonal spire was added later. Between 2007 and 2010, the tower was restored and surrounded by abstract art works by contemporary painters, which caused great controversy.
