Introduction to the main church: The Metropolitan Cathedral of Chisinau was built in 1836. It is a symmetrical neoclassical building. There are three altars in the church, dedicated to the three saints. The cathedral was severely damaged during World War II and underwent several reconstructions to maintain its original appearance.
