Bird Island Introduction: Bird Island is not an island, but a series of mountains on the west coast and several huge rock formations in the nearby sea. Thousands of gannets line up to perch on two huge rocks standing abruptly on the sea. Their chirping of "baaaaaah" and the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs play a symphony.
