Introduction to Meiwan Old Street: Meiwan Street is named because it is said that people planted plum blossoms here in ancient times and is close to the bend of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is one of the few existing traditional residential and commercial buildings in Jiaxing that embodies the local characteristics of Jiangnan. The neighborhood has a strong style of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Meiwan Street reflects the changes in Jiaxing's history and culture.
