Introduction to the protected area: Nanji Wetland National Nature Reserve is located in the south of Poyang Lake. During the spring and summer wet periods, the protected area is covered by floods and becomes part of the vast waters of Poyang Lake. There are only two people in Nanshan and Jishan. The islands are exposed on the lake surface; during the dry season in autumn and winter, the water falls and emerges on the beach. The protected area is exposed as the front edge of the Ganjiang River Delta, presenting a wetland landscape of interlaced rivers and lakes and mosaic of islands and beaches.
