Introduction to Jiming Temple: Jiming Temple, formerly known as Tongtai Temple, was built in the first year of Datong (527), the reign of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasties, and was later destroyed by thunder and fire. In the early years of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty, ordered it to be demolished and rebuilt. It was renamed Jiming Temple and inscribed in his own handwriting, which means "hearing the chickens dancing, rising in the morning and working hard". In 1958, the temple was changed from an incense dojo to a nun dojo. Since 1983, under the leadership of the original abbot Master Zongcheng, it has been gradually restored and opened to the outside world according to the scale of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, becoming the first important temple in Nanjing.
