Introduction to Qixia Temple: Qixia Temple was built in the seventh year of Yongming in the Southern Qi Dynasty (489). Initially the temple was called Qixia Jingshe, but it was frequently renamed during the Tang and Song dynasties, and was finally renamed Qixia Temple in the fifth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1372). At the end of the Qing Dynasty, when the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom fought with the Qing soldiers, Qixia Temple was destroyed in the war. The current temple was rebuilt in 1919.
