Introduction to Zhongshan Botanical Garden: Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden is the first national botanical garden in China. It was built in 1929 and was formerly known as the "Mr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Botanical Garden". As a botanical research center in the mid- and northern subtropics of my country, the botanical garden preserves more than 3,000 species of plants; has built 10 specialized gardens (districts); has a collection of 700,000 specimens; and has an ornamental plant center, a medicinal plant center, a plant information center, Key Laboratory of Ex-Situ Plant Conservation and the largest herbarium in East China.
