Introduction to Zhang Shiming's old house: "Zhang Shiming's old house" is located on Nanxi Street, Nanxun Town, also known as Yide Hall. It was built by Zhang Heping, a wealthy man from Jiangnan, during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The old house covers a total area of 4,792 square meters, with a construction area of 6,137 square meters. There are 150 buildings of various styles and Chinese and Western styles. It has a unique style, magnificent structure and exquisite craftsmanship. It is cleverly integrated into the typical Jiangnan traditional architectural layout. A collection of Western European buildings from the French Renaissance, this combination of Chinese and Western styles also reflects the economic, cultural, and artistic connections and communication between China and Western society at the end of the 19th century.
