Introduction to Piazza del Gesù Nuovo: Piazza del Gesù Nuovo is located in the center of Naples, outside the western boundary of the ancient city. It is the result of the city's westward expansion during the Spanish governor's rule in the 16th century. New Jesus Square is quite close to Toledo Road and Dante Square. There are three landmark buildings in the square: New Jesus Church, Santa Chiara Church and the Spire of the Immaculate Virgin Mary.
