Introduction to St. Louis Cathedral: The magnificent and sacred St. Louis Cathedral (ST.LOUIS CATHEDRAL) in Jackson Square has been around for nearly 300 years since 1718. It is one of the famous churches in the world and a local landmark. The church was designated as a basilica by Pope Paul VI. On the left is the old city hall and on the right is the priest's residence. It was later changed to the city hall and now both sides are museums. The church bells are supposed to be used as fire alarms, but when a fire breaks out, the pedantic priests strictly follow Christian doctrine and cannot ring the bells on Holy Friday. So the fire quickly engulfed the entire old New Orleans with the wind, and the St. Louis Cathedral itself was reduced to ashes.
