Port introduction: Newark Port covers an area of 292 hectares, has 36 berths for ocean-going vessels, 222,000 square meters of warehouses, and huge refrigeration facilities. It handles 30% of the New York area's maritime freight volume and is the main import port for automobiles and lumber on the East Coast of the United States. The Port of Newark and nearby Port Elizabeth have a total annual cargo handling capacity of 12 million tons of containers. The coast of Newark Bay is one of the world's largest container handling areas.
