Introduction to the Masséna Museum: The Musée Masséna is located in a high-end villa built in the 19th century and opened to the public in 1921. The theme of the exhibition is mainly the local history of Nice, and the exhibits were donated by the Prince of Rivoli. The history of the museum dates back to 1898, when Victor Masséna, then Duke of Rivoli, decided to build a villa. In 1919, Victor Massena's son transferred the villa to the Nice government on the condition that the villa be used as a museum. The back villa has been used as a museum.
