Introduction to the Yellow River: The Yellow River is the second longest river in China and the fifth longest river in the world. Maqu originates from the Yougu Zonglie Basin in Qinghai Province, flows from west to east through 9 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan and Shandong, and finally flows into the Bohai Sea. The Ningxia section belongs to the section from Xiaheyan to Shizuishan, flowing through the fertile Ningxia plain.
