Introduction to the National Monument: Many people know the National Monument of the Castle because “On March 20, 2012, a soldier of the Norwegian Honor Guard suddenly collapsed and fainted while lining up in front of the Akershus Castle National Monument to welcome Prince Charles of the United Kingdom. He fell to the ground. Soldiers participating in the welcoming ceremony rushed forward to help and lift the unconscious soldier away from the scene.
