Introduction to the National War Memorial: In the center of Federation Square stands the Canadian National War Memorial (War Memorial), which was built in 1939. The entire war monument consists of 22 bronze statues of martyrs, each 2.44 meters high. The equipment they carry and the military uniforms they wear are exactly the same as before. The War Memorial was originally built to commemorate the Canadian martyrs who died in the First World War, and later evolved into a memorial place for Canadians to commemorate all Canadian martyrs who died in the war.
